“ As you approach the building you can see the smoke up top and you're welcomed by the wonderful smell of Southern food. The line was long but moved fairly quickly. Behind the neatly organized counter is an impressive operation in business since 2003. Everything is well seasoned and the sides are all fresh, with the containers being frequently reloaded. I bought the Queen's Family Meal and the Fried Chicken Meal (available Fri. & Sat.) and it was all way too much food but I kind of wanted to try it all. I cannot point out an item that I didn't enjoy. The baked beans are pretty standard and I found the fried okra a bit too salty, but other than that, everything was great. The ribs and the pulled pork are spectacular. The garlic potatoes are a must. Mac & cheese was just loaded with cheese, delicious. Solid collard greens, nice and juicy. I loved that they were very generous with the sides of BBQ sauce, and after having the regular and sweet/spicy ones I now want to taste them all. Glad I finally got dinner from here! ”

“ Really loved the atmosphere here! Great, affordable food. They even had a young man (possibly around 11 yrs?)who came out to clear out some trays! Wonderful family environment that you can't find anywhere else anymore. Highly recommend. Also, not a bad idea to bring a few dollars cash to bless this young boy for spending his time working a d doing a good job. We should be frequenting these establishments ”
“ Great food. Tiny but has indoor and outdoor seating. Closed Sundays. Ribs are meaty and fall off the bone. And those garlic butter potatoes???? Off the charts!! ”
“ C & K serves amazing BBQ! Each and every time I have the Ribs or Chicken I am immediately taken back to memories of a backyard or family reunion barbecue. You know the one where the favorite Uncle is on the grill with fall off the bone perfectly seasoned chicken and Ribs. You know the Ribs are good when you don’t need barbecue sauce. They are a MUST try place and you’d be hooked. The side dishes are standard but the meat is definitely the star of the show. This is my favorite place for barbecue. ”

“ Absolutely the best authentic southern BBQ in the Manatee and Sarasota county area, bar none. And the prices are right! A hidden gem! The minute you exit your car you smell delicious BBQ smoking. The ribs, chicken and pulled pork as well as the sides are delicious, expertly smoked, fresh, and reasonably priced. There is a small dine in area and a picnic table out on the covered porch, but most will take out by either calling ahead or walking in. We ate in and apart from it being a tad warm, it was fun to see the many locals coming in to get this "worth the drive" barbecue and sides. Their hours are somewhat short so check online and they are closed certain days too. But this keeps it fresh and the quality sustainable. ”
